Sea monster
Sea serpent, Monster from the deep, Leviathan
Old sailors' maps sometimes showed sea monsters coiled in the blank spaces at the edge of the known world. That's a good key to this dream: a sea monster often surfaces when you've ventured into unfamiliar waters, like a new role, a big move or a relationship where you can't see the bottom. The creature matches the size of your uncertainty, not the size of any real danger. If it stayed below the surface, you sense something powerful but haven't met it yet. If you sailed past it unharmed, you're more seaworthy than you thought.
