Monster

Monsters, Creature, Boogeyman

Monsters are big, strange and hard to explain, which is exactly why the mind uses them for problems that feel too large to name. A monster in your dream can stand for a fear, a habit or a situation that has grown in your imagination. Hiding from it means you're avoiding something. Turning to look at it, or even speaking to it, is the best way this dream can go: the problem shrinks as you face it. Monsters under the bed bring childhood worries back into view.

Dream variations

• Becoming a monsterYou may be worried about your own temper or about hurting someone. Owning your feelings makes them less scary.
