Mothman

The Mothman, Moth man, Point Pleasant Mothman

In November 1966, two young couples in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, told police they'd seen a tall winged figure with glowing red eyes near an old wartime explosives site. The newspapers named it Mothman, and the story has never quite gone away. Today the town has a shiny 12-foot metal statue, a museum and a Mothman Festival every September. In a dream, Mothman stands at the edge of the unexplained, a large, strange presence you can't quite place. It can also show how something eerie turns, over time, into a source of local pride.
