Jackal
Jackals, Golden jackal, Anubis
Lean and sharp-eared, the jackal lives on the open plains of Africa and Asia, where it's often seen trailing larger hunters. Seen in a dream, it may stand for someone hovering at the edge of a situation, waiting to see what they can gain. Yet jackal couples stay together for years and share the work of raising their pups, so the dream may be about loyalty in a small, tight bond. Ancient Egyptians gave their god Anubis a jackal's head and saw him as a watchful guide, which lends the animal a protective side during a change or a crossing.
