Traffic light
Red light, Stoplight, Green light
Three colors give the orders at a traffic light, and most people obey without a second thought. Stopping at one in a dream raises questions of permission and timing: who says when you can go, and whether you're willing to wait. A green light is a welcome sign that a plan can move ahead. Red asks you to pause, maybe because others need their turn first. Yellow is the tricky one, a moment of decision between speeding up and slowing down, and it often matches a choice you're weighing in waking life.
Dream variations
- A red light that never changesYou're stuck waiting while nothing seems to move. Find out what's actually holding things up; there may be a simple answer.
- Running a red lightImpatience is pushing you to cut a corner or bend a rule to get ahead. Pause long enough to weigh the risk.
- Broken or flashing traffic lightsThe usual rules of a situation have stopped working, and everyone is improvising. Go slowly and agree on turns with the people around you.
- A green light but you don't moveEverything is set for you, but you hesitate. Notice what's holding you back; it may be fear rather than good sense.
