Stonehenge
Stone circle, Standing stones, Salisbury Plain
Stonehenge rises from Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England: a ring of giant sandstone blocks raised about 4,500 years ago, along with smaller bluestones hauled roughly 150 miles from the Preseli Hills in Wales. Nobody knows for certain why it was built, but it lines up with the sunrise at midsummer and the sunset at midwinter. In a dream, the stones often stand for timing, turning points and questions too old to have a neat answer. They can show up when you're paying attention to the cycles of your life, or when you feel part of a story that began long before you.
Dream variations
- Watching the midsummer sunrise at StonehengeYou're tuned in to timing. Notice which parts of your life run in seasons, and plan around them instead of against them.
- Wandering among the stones aloneYou're comfortable not knowing, at least for now. Let a mystery stay open for a while instead of forcing an answer.
- Bluestones arriving from far awayThe piece that completes your circle may come from well outside it: a new friend, a fresh idea or help from another town. Make it welcome.
- Seeing the stones from behind a ropeSomething you admire is being kept at arm's length. Respect the boundary, and look for the proper way to get closer.
