Shovel

Spade, Shovels, Shoveling

A shovel is the plainest of tools, made for one job: moving earth, sand or gravel from one place to another. A dream shovel usually has to do with hard, honest work and a willingness to get your hands dirty. Being handed one may mean you've been given a job others would rather avoid. A new, sturdy shovel suggests you have the right tools for what's ahead, while a bent or broken one points to a task that needs better equipment or more people. Leaning on a shovel for a breather is a reminder that even steady workers need a pause.
