Digging

Dig, Digging a hole, Digging something up

Shovel in hand, you're getting beneath the surface of something. Digging in a dream often means you're searching for the truth, uncovering an old memory or trying to reach the root of a problem. What you found matters most. Hitting something solid? An answer may be close. Digging with your bare hands shows how badly you need to know. A hole that kept getting deeper can point to a situation that has grown beyond what you planned.
