The Sandman
Sandman, Mr. Sandman, Bringer of sleep
The Sandman is the bedtime figure who creeps in after dark and sprinkles a little magic sand so that heavy eyelids finally close. Meeting him in a dream has a storybook feel, and it often touches on rest, comfort and letting go of the day. If he seemed kind, you may be longing for a proper pause, the kind where no one is asking you for anything. If he looked sinister, a worry may be keeping you from switching off at the end of the day. Since he's the one said to deliver dreams in the first place, seeing him may also be plain curiosity about your own inner world.

- The Sandman telling you a storyYour imagination wants more space. Read, write or daydream a little more than usual this week.
- Being the Sandman yourselfYou're the one who helps others wind down and feel safe, as a parent, a friend or a caregiver. Let someone tuck you in, figuratively, once in a while.
