Pomegranate
Pomegranates, Pomegranate seeds, Pomegranate juice
A pomegranate looks plain and leathery from the outside, then breaks open to reveal hundreds of glowing red seeds. Dream pomegranates often stand for richness hidden behind a tough surface, in a person, a job or a situation you nearly passed by. Opening one is slow, messy work, so it can also hint at rewards you have to dig for. In Greek myth, Persephone ate a few pomegranate seeds and was bound to spend part of every year in the underworld. Many Jewish families eat it at the New Year, as a wish for a year full of good deeds.
