Mummy
Egyptian mummy, Mummies, Wrapped in bandages
Wrapped layer upon layer in linen, an Egyptian mummy was prepared to last through the ages. A dream mummy often stands for something from the past that has been carefully preserved: an old hurt, a habit or a memory you've kept wrapped up rather than looked at. A mummy lurching to life, as in the old horror films, suggests that an issue you'd packed away is stirring again. Being bound in bandages yourself may show that you feel restricted, unable to move or say what you want. Seeing one in a museum points to curiosity about history, yours or your family's.
Dream variations
- Unwrapping a mummyYou're prepared to look at something you kept covered for a long time. Go slowly, one layer at a time.
- A mummy chasing youAn old matter is shuffling after you, slow but steady. You have time to deal with it calmly, so pick a day and do it.
- Being wrapped like a mummyYou've held so still to keep everyone happy that you can barely move. Start small: say one clear no this week.
- A mummy in a museumYou can look at an old hurt calmly now, as something behind glass. That distance is real progress, and you earned it.
