Masks, Masquerade, Wearing a mask

A mask lets you borrow another face for a while, or hides the one you have, and mask dreams play on both. Wearing one may show a role you play at work or with family, a way of getting through the day without letting everyone see how you feel. Taking it off often feels like relief, the chance to be seen as you are. Someone else in a mask can point to a person you can't quite read yet. A masquerade ball, with everyone in disguise, adds glamour and a sense of freedom from the usual rules.
