Narrow ledge, Window ledge, Standing on a ledge
A ledge is a narrow place to stand, with a wall at your back and open air in front. In a dream it often marks a tight spot: a moment when you can't easily go back and aren't sure how to go on. Yet a ledge on a rock face is also where climbers stop to rest, so the dream may simply show a pause partway through a big effort. Climbing out a window onto one points to a step outside your comfort zone that took more nerve than you expected. The feeling it left, dizzy or oddly peaceful, says how secure you feel in your current position.
