Iguana

Iguanas, Green iguana, Pet iguana

An iguana basks for hours on a warm branch, looking ancient and completely unbothered. Dreams borrow that calm: patience, self-sufficiency and the ability to stay still until the moment is right. Its spiny crest and steady stare can make it look fierce, yet it lives mostly on leaves and flowers, so it can be about someone whose tough look hides a mild nature. Iguanas also drop from trees into water and swim away when startled, a reminder that you have more ways out than you think.

Dream variations

• An iguana staring at youSomeone is waiting to see what you'll do before they move. Make the first friendly gesture.
• Holding an iguanaYou're getting comfortable with a person or a task that looked prickly at first. Carry on at this easy pace.
• An iguana falling from a treeA plan that seemed settled has suddenly fallen through. Give it time; like the cold-stunned iguanas of Florida, it may stir again once things warm up.
