Hometown
Home town, Town you grew up in, Going back home
Your hometown knows a version of you that newer friends have never met: the kid on a bike, the teenager with big plans, the person who couldn't wait to leave or never wanted to. Dreaming of it often turns to roots and identity, especially when something in your life is changing your sense of who you are. Walking its streets as an adult lets you measure the distance you've traveled. A hometown that has changed, with shops gone and roads moved, may say you can't go back to an old way of being, and perhaps don't need to. Being stuck there, unable to leave, can point to an expectation from your early years that still holds you.
