Cuckoo
Cuckoo bird, Cuckoo call, Cuckoo clock
In much of Britain and Europe the cuckoo's two-note call is the classic sign that spring has truly arrived. Hearing it in a dream can mark a fresh start or news you've been waiting for. The bird has another side too: it lays its eggs in other birds' nests and leaves them to raise its chicks. So a cuckoo may point to someone taking advantage of your care, or a feeling that you don't quite belong where you are. A cuckoo clock gives the dream a playful, old-fashioned touch and draws attention to timing.
