Willow

Weeping willow, Willow tree, Pussy willow

A weeping willow trails its long branches toward the water, swaying in the smallest breeze. Despite the name, a willow in a dream is less about sadness than about flexibility: it bends in a storm where stiffer trees snap. Willows grow beside rivers and ponds, so they're also linked with feelings and the flow of life. The soft catkins of a pussy willow, among the first signs of spring, suggest hope returning after a long winter.
