Shrimp

Prawns, Shrimp cocktail, Shrimps

Shrimp are small and quick, and they're rarely found alone, so they can mean modest efforts or pleasures that build on each other. On a plate they're a treat, from a cocktail party to a beach-town dinner, which gives the dream a festive, slightly indulgent mood. Their size can also stir up feelings of being tiny or overlooked. A big pile of shrimp suggests plenty to share, while just one or two on a plate can feel like a stingy portion of something you'd hoped for.
