Royal family
Royals, Royalty, Meeting the royals
For a family most people will never meet, the royals turn up in a surprising number of dreams. In 1972 the British writer Brian Masters even published a whole book of people's dreams about the Queen and her relatives. A royal family in a dream often has to do with duty, tradition and a life lived in full view of everyone. Being welcomed into their circle can reflect a hunger for recognition, or a sense that you're moving among more important people than usual. Feeling sorry for them may say more about the weight of your own family roles.
Dream variations
- Having tea with the royalsSomeone who seems far above you is more ordinary than you think. A plain, friendly word will go further than careful manners.
- Marrying into the royal familyYou're joining a group with strong traditions, like a new workplace or your partner's relatives. Learn their customs, and keep a few of your own.
- Photographers following the royalsYou feel your family's choices are on show. Agree together on what stays private, and stop worrying about the rest.
- Watching a royal wedding on TVYou're enjoying a celebration from a distance. Plan a small one of your own, so you're taking part instead of watching.
