Raft

Rafts, Life raft, Rafting, White-water rafting

A raft is the simplest kind of boat, a few logs or an inflatable platform with no walls between you and the water. A dream raft can say a lot about how exposed you feel in a situation, and how steady you manage to stay. A raft that keeps spinning in the current suggests plans that need a firmer hand. A life raft points to emergency support: the friend or the backup plan that keeps you afloat while things settle. Sharing a raft with others means each person's balance affects the rest.

Dream variations

• Building a raftYou're putting together your own way out instead of waiting for rescue. Test it in shallow water first.
• A raft coming apartYour makeshift solution is straining. Shore it up now, or head for land.
• Rafting through rapidsThe current has picked up, and you're in it with others. Paddle in time with your crew and call out what you see ahead.
• Alone on a raft at seaYou feel far from help right now. Signal for it; people may be nearer than you think.
