Puddle

Puddles, Rain puddle, Muddy puddle

A puddle is a little piece of sky lying on the pavement. After rain it holds clouds, streetlights and faces going by, which gives it an oddly dreamy quality. Dream puddles point to small, passing matters: a brief upset, a short delay or a mood that will lift once the sun comes out. Stepping carefully around them shows you're trying hard to avoid little messes. Children see puddles as invitations, so one that delights you may hint that a playful streak is returning.
