Piranha

Piranhas, School of piranhas, Red-bellied piranha

Movies made piranhas famous for stripping anything to the bone in seconds, though the real fish of South American rivers are far shyer than their reputation. In a dream they usually stand for small things that bite in numbers: errands, comments, chores or demands that are harmless one at a time but overwhelming together. Water churning with piranhas can mirror a group that turns sharp when it senses weakness, like a gossip circle or a heated online thread. If they swam past without bothering you, you're keeping your cool among people who might nip.
