Olives

Olive, Olive tree, Olive oil

Olives are an acquired taste: bitter straight off the tree, they need weeks or months of curing before they're good to eat. No wonder they suit dreams about patience and pleasures that grow on you over time. A bowl of olives on the table has the relaxed feel of a long Mediterranean lunch with friends. Olive trees can live for centuries, gnarled and silver-leaved, so a grove in your dream may be about endurance, peace or roots that go deep. Pressing olives into oil suggests you're getting the best out of hard work.
