Lotus

Lotus flower, Lotuses

The lotus grows from muddy water and opens perfectly clean above it, which makes it a beautiful picture of rising above difficulty. Seeing one bloom marks personal growth, a calmer mind or a hard experience that has left you wiser. In many Asian traditions it's linked with spiritual awakening, and dreamers anywhere can feel that peaceful quality. A closed bud hints that your best is still unfolding. Sitting by a lotus pond invites you to slow down and breathe.
