Locusts
Locusts are grasshoppers that change when crowded: they turn color, gather and move as one vast swarm. That makes them a striking dream image for the pull of the crowd and for things that get out of hand once they start spreading, like rumors, panic or a craze. The plague of locusts in the Book of Exodus adds a sense of something consuming far more than its share. A locust dream often comes when your time or energy is being eaten up faster than it can grow back. Watching the swarm move on is a hopeful sign that the pressure won't last.
Also called: Locust, Swarm of locusts, Plague of locusts
