Feeding animals

Feeding the animals, Feeding wild animals, Hand-feeding

Animals crowding around you at feeding time, nudging, squawking and waiting their turn, make a lively dream scene about care and responsibility. Feeding animals is a basic way of looking after creatures that can't look after themselves, so the dream often concerns who depends on you and how that feels. Doing it on a regular schedule, without fuss, suggests you're comfortable being relied on. Which animals you fed matters too: pets lead back to home, farm animals to work and duties, and wild ones to something outside your usual world.

Dream variations

• Running out of food for the animalsYou're worried there isn't enough of you to go around. Feed the most urgent needs first and ask someone to help with the rest.
• An animal that won't eatSomething you're offering isn't what's needed. Watch more closely, and try another approach.
• Feeding a wild animalYou're tempted to help in a way that might cause trouble later. Sometimes kindness means keeping a respectful distance.
• Being nipped while feeding animalsSomeone you look after snapped at you. It may be hunger or fear talking; set a firm limit and keep caring.
