Eel
Eels, Moray eel, Electric eel
An eel is hard to hold even with both hands: it's long, slick and gone in a flash. "Slippery as an eel" is an old saying for someone who won't give a straight answer, and the dream often has that flavor: a situation, a promise or a person you can't quite pin down. Eels are also great travelers, swimming thousands of miles to one patch of the Atlantic, the Sargasso Sea, to breed, so one can stand for a long, quiet journey that only you know about. An eel gliding calmly through clear water is a kinder sight: you're getting through a murky stretch with more ease than you think.
