Crystal ball

Crystal balls, Scrying, Gazing into a crystal ball

A glass sphere that's said to show the future sums up the wish for certainty better than almost anything. A crystal ball in a dream may arrive when your patience has worn thin and you'd love to skip ahead to the answer. Mist swirling inside it fits a situation that's still forming, so nobody can read it clearly yet. If you saw your own face in it, what happens next depends more on your choices than on fate. A ball that showed nothing at all may just mean you've stopped picturing good outcomes, so try imagining one on purpose.

Dream variations

• Seeing a clear picture in the ballYou already sense how something will turn out. Act on that hunch, but leave room to be wrong.
• Gazing into it for hoursSo much of your energy is going into tomorrow that today gets squeezed. Pick one thing to enjoy right now.
• Dropping a crystal ballYou'd rather stop guessing and simply find out. Put the question you've been circling into words.
• Being given a crystal ballSomeone wants you to look further down the road than you do now. Listen to their hopes for you, then decide for yourself.
