Crane

Tall, gray and elegant, cranes are known for their dances: pairs bow, leap and flap their wings at each other, especially in spring. In a dream a crane often stands for grace, devotion and long-lasting bonds, since many cranes stay with one partner for life. A flock flying high and calling loudly gives a sense of a journey shared with others. In Japan and China cranes are symbols of long life and good fortune, and folding a thousand paper cranes is a custom for making a wish. A crane standing on one leg is a picture of balance and patience in a tricky situation.

Also called: Cranes, Sandhill crane, Paper crane
