Axe
Ax, Hatchet, Chopping wood
An axe is a tool of plain, honest work, made for chopping wood and clearing paths one swing at a time. In dreams the axe usually stands for decisive action, especially a cut you've been putting off. A sharp axe that bites cleanly suggests you know exactly what has to go. Someone else swinging an axe nearby may point to cuts at your job or in your household that make you nervous. The old phrase "bury the hatchet," meaning to make peace, can turn this dream into a hopeful one about ending a quarrel.
